10 Things To Do Other Than Talk About Trump

Are you tired of turning on the news and hearing a story about President Trump every single day? The mindshare he has is INCREDIBLE yet, there are many things WE can do, other than discuss (complain about) the guy in the White House everyday.

1) Focus on Your Community

Whether you agree or disagree with the actions taken by our President, it doesn’t preclude YOU from taking action to better your own community.

2) Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is

Maybe you are like most Americans, and you want transparency when it comes to Trump’s financials. Guess what? There are SO MANY worthy causes that you can use YOUR finances to support. And, Trump’s lack of financial disclosure won’t stand in the way at all.

3) Be the Change You Want to See

We are in a world where we are constantly discussing the actions of others. What if we changed the narrative, and we spent less time focusing on the deficiencies or inaction of others and we focused on the actions we want to take ourselves? Wouldn’t that be something? Some might even say WokeNFree 🙂

4) Spend Time with Loved Ones

Time is the most valuable asset you have in life. Spending the time with people that matter the most to us is the best way to live your best life!

5) Change the Channel

If you don’t like hearing the same depressing, emotionally upsetting, and unsettling news, you can do something about it. CHANGE THE CHANNEL!

6) Live for Now (Not 2020 Elections)

Despite the many democrats running for president, there is more to life than the 2020 elections. Go somewhere new, eat something fun. Do anything other than obsess over an election which our current president will most likely win. Stay tuned for what we have to say in an upcoming episode.

7) Read A Book

Reading is one of the best things you will ever do in your life. You can expand your mind, learn a new trade, improve skills, or enjoy a world very different to your own. In fact, not enough people are reading. Do yourself a favor and pick up a book. It can change your life.

8) Up Your Networking Game

If networking was a person, I would call it Superman. Networking can lead to business opportunities, meaningful friendships, speaking opportunities, and so much more. What has networking done for you lately? Who has time to talk about the guy in the white house when you could be growing your personal and professional network?

9) Do Something that Scares You

If you do something that scares you everyday, who will you become at the end of the journey?

10) Live WokeNFree

WokeNFree living is all about being real and honest with yourself and the world. You are willing to ask yourself the hard questions, and you never back down from a challenge. What is more important than WokeNFree living?

Over 1 Billion Raised to Rebuild
Paris’ Notre Dame Remarkable or Not?

According to Vox, “more than $1 billion has rolled in to repair the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, a debate is raging over whether the glut of donations would have been better spent on other causes.”

Let’s Discuss…

Charity is a Blessing

It is amazing that so many people care about restoring the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. We need to have compassion for people all over the world. This type of generosity is a fantastic example of what global concern looks like.

Are We Really Paying Attention?

When we hear about catastrophic events around the world, do we equally pay attention to these events? Sadly…no. This is a problem. Is this why some people are outraged over the money pledged to fix the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris? Yes, Yes, Yes. Which makes us ask the question…do all people matter in this world?

WokeNFree Recommendations

  1. Sharing is Caring – Education is beyond important. It is a pivotal part of how we are alive today. When we can share news and information with each other, we can ensure that WE ALL KNOW what is going on. Share news, ideas, thoughts, feelings, and everything in between.
  2. A Crisis is a Crisis (No Matter Where It Takes Place) – When there is a crisis happening in the US, Africa, Australia, Europe, or anywhere else in the world, the crisis matters. It deserves the attention of the media and us (citizens of the world). Let’s not remain so engulfed with our local, regional, or national news that we forget to care about the world as a whole.
  3. Money Isn’t The Only Type of Support – Maybe you have money to donate to a cause. If so, great! Maybe, you don’t. If you have access to the internet and social media, you can spread awareness. You can volunteer your time. You could volunteer your services. Never for a moment, believe that only money is needed in this world. We all can help with matters in some way (no matter what)!
  4. There is One Race: The Human Race – We are all human beings. Regardless of the color of our skin or where we come from, we need to remember the importance of human life. If we take action with this sentiment, then countries and people alike should lend compassion and resources more equally and frequently.

Did You Hear the Big News?

Kahlil and I are moving to Arizona and we are BEYOND excited to share the news with everyone.

When asked, Why Arizona? We both seem to say in unison, Why New York? But, since some people (mostly New Yorkers) need an explanation, let’s talk about it!

#1 Tired of Being Sick and Tired

Do you enjoy the cold weather? We don’t. With allergies and inconsistent New York weather, Natasha has struggled with breathing through her nose for at least seven years. This makes no sense at all! Not being able to properly breathe is unacceptable and there is something we can actually do about it. We are moving to a place with better air quality, superb weather conditions, and a whole new way of living. Goodbye New York!

#2 Expensive Doesn’t Always Mean Better

New York isn’t what it used to be. When we were growing up, the city seemed to be a much different place. With the insane growth of homelessness and the angry attitudes encountered on the street, the disparity between people truly blows us away. Even though New York is one of the most expensive cities to live, it is not one of the best cities to live in. Why pay more to be more unhappy?

#3 Misery Loves Company

While sharing the big news with friends and family, do you think everyone reacted the same way? Absolutely not. Not to our surprise, the non-New Yorkers said, “Congratulations” or “I am so happy for you.” While, the New Yorkers said, “Why Arizona?”, “How could you leave New York?”, “What about your New York connections?”

Isn’t that ridiculous? We understand misery loves company, but we refuse to be miserable… No matter what! There is a much bigger world outside of New York and the United States. Stop deluding yourself into thinking that there isn’t.

#4 Need Dog-Friendly Living

We truly enjoy the outdoors when it’s not so cold outside. Often, we need to take pictures and film videos outdoors. Do you know how hard it is to do this in New York? You can catch pneumonia trying to take pictures or shoot videos in the cold; not to mention, we would like to do more outdoor activities with our dog J.J. who loves running outside. Arizona will be a much-needed change of scenery for our entire household.

#5 Ready for A New Adventure

Helen Keller once said, “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.” Moving to Arizona will be the next chapter in our life. This chapter will be filled with new people, places, and experiences. This adventure is exactly what we want and need.

#6 Hypothyroidism Indoors Sucks

Last May, Natasha was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and it was quite an eye-opening experience. She has been forced to take daily medication, change her eating habits, and prioritize her health in a whole new way. Working out and enjoying nature in the warmth is something she really needs, to live better. Goodbye New York! We can’t take the cold anymore :p

#7 Joining Great Company

Arizona isn’t that far from Vegas and California. And, we can’t wait to connect with the bloggers, writers, artists, entrepreneurs, podcasters, and businesses out there. Hello Arizona!
